Los Angeles/London – Celebrities paid tribute Wednesday to Hollywood icon Elizabeth Taylor, who died in Los Angeles aged 79.
Among those paying their respects were former US senator John Warner, who was married to Taylor in the late 1970s and early 1980s.
“I will remember her as a woman whose heart and soul were as beautiful as her classic face and majestic eyes,” he said on CNN.
Her son with second husband Michael Wilding, John Wilding, said that “the world is a better place for Mom having lived in it.”
“My mother was an extraordinary woman who lived life to the fullest, with great passion, humour, and love,” he said in a statement.
“Her remarkable body of work in film, her ongoing success as a businesswoman, and her brave and relentless advocacy in the fight against HIV/AIDS, all make us all incredibly proud of what she accomplished.”
The foundation she created to raise awareness about the disease, the Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation, said “We mourn the loss of legendary actress, businesswoman, and fearless activist Elizabeth Taylor.”
Tributes to her poured in on a special Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/ElizabethTaylorTribute) and fellow stars from Larry King to Alyssa Milano rushed to pay their respects on Twitter.

For years, my conductor-friend Angelo hung a large banner in the university classroom where he once led a community orchestra (and I once played second violin). It said: “Music … Not for a Living, but for a LIFETIME.”
I’ve been thinking of Angelo’s banner lately — every time I sit down to watch American Idol on a Wednesday night, and then again when some poor, weepy soul gets booted off on Thursday. Last week we had to watch Karen Rodriguez plead with the judges for a last-minute reprieve from the TV dustbin.
My heart goes out to these folks, but every time someone vows to keep chasing that elusive goal of pop-music superstardom, I cringe. I a

Ke$ha, the insanely irritating popstar with a voice like a thousand nails on a blackboard, has seemingly grown something resembling a heart as she looks out toward to good people of Japan and thinks “you’ve really suffered enough”.
As such, she’s decided to cancel her upcoming tour of Japan after the country was hit with a catastrophic earthquake and tsunami.
While the country grieves and suffers continued quakes, they certainly don’t need to hear someone singing about ‘Glitter Puke’ or performing the immensely grating ‘Blah Blah Blah’.
Ke$ha released a statement explaining the postponement through her Japanese promoter, Creativeman Productions, saying:
“My heart is with Japan right now through this disaster and these hardships. I genuinely don’t t

The real answer depends largely on your goals, the length and type of workout (yoga vs. endurance running) and whether you’re an average exerciser or an elite athlete looking to shave a millisecond off of your last long-distance run. Athletes in the latter category spend more time calculating, measuring and weighing food than the average person needs or wants to. For the majority, the dietary advice below will help you get through your workout, burn fat and have enough energy left over to make it through a busy work day without falling asleep at your desk.
Many diet books suggest exercising on an empty stomach to burn the most fat.

When Shahid Kapur visited his father Pankaj Kapur on the sets of Happi, little did he know that there was a cinematic lesson waiting for him. Unit sources say that while the shot was in progress, a chair fell on Pankaj, but since he was so immersed in the scene, he didn’t even realise that he was hurt.
Seeing Pankaj’s condition, Shahid rushed to his aid only to realise that he was still performing and director Bhavna Talwar had not said, “cut”. “Rarely has he come across an actor and director so in sync with each other. That’s when Shahid was convinced that this is the team that should work on his father’s Mausam,” said the source.
