Michael Buble has won three Grammy Awards
Canadian singer Michael Buble has landed a Sony Radio Academy award nomination for his music show on Magic 105.4.
The singer will go up against Fearne Cotton – also a first-time nominee – for her BBC Radio 1 show.
Chris Evans will go head-to-head in the best breakfast show category with 5 live’s early morning programme, last year’s winner.
The winners are due to be announced at a ceremony in London on 14 May.
Buble also faces a challenge for best music programme from 6 Music’s Steve Lamacq.
The singing star’s three-month long series of weekly shows was broadcast on Magic at the end of last year.
In the specialist music category, Rolling Stone Ronnie Wood is nominated for his show on Absolute Radio.
The 64-year-old was named radio personality of the year in 2011.
This year’s hopefuls for the prize are Radio 2 breakfast show host Chris Evans, Absolute Radio’s Christian O’Connell and 6 Music’s Lauren Laverne and Huey Morgan.

Less than two weeks after suffering his third heart attack, Gallagher told CNN he’s suspending his comedy club career to improve his health and give him more time to work on new challenges.
“I’m sick and tired of it,” the 65-year-old comedian said of constantly touring at small clubs. Instead, he’ll finish a cartoon movie script he’s been writing and try to create television shows, he said.
“If Betty White can have a career at her age, I might have two or three years of something different,” Gallagher said. Full Article…

New Line is looking to go on a “Rampage,” signing writer Ryan Engle for a big-screen adaptation of the Midway vidgame.
Project, set with producer John Rickard, is being developed as a possible franchise along the lines of “Independence Day” with potentially significant merchandising tie-ins. Warner Bros. acquired Midway for $33 million in 2009, leading to New Line also developing a feature version of the Midway game “Mortal Kombat”
“Rampage,” which came into the market in 1986, involves monsters — a King Kong-like gorilla, a Godzilla-like dinosaur/lizard and a giant werewolf — that have been created from mutated humans.

Will Ferrell announced Wednesday night that Anchorman 2 is officially happening. That got us thinking about our favorite Will Ferrell movies. Heres the top 10.
1. Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgandy
Ron Burgundy manages to cover every horrible newsman stereotype in existence.
2. Wedding Crashers
Somehow, Ferrells small role in this movie went uncredited. Nonetheless, Chazz Reinhold, a foul mouth middle aged man who lives with his mom and tries to pick up women at funerals, ranks among the most pathetically hilarious characters of all time.
3. Old School
A flashback to the college days that we apparently missed out on.
